Questions?

Do you euthanize animals?

We do our very best to run as a no kill shelter. On rare occasions, aggressive, terminally ill or severely injured animals may need to be euthanized as it is the most humane option for them. Your donations help us to continue being able to help save as many animals as we can.

When are you open?

We are currently open by appointment only, so please call ahead!

How much does it cost to adopt an animal?

Please call the shelter if you are interested in adoption. Cost of adoption varies for some animals. We DO NOT adopt to just anyone, we have to make sure our animals are going to a safe and loving home. There is a small interview and the adoption form that must be filled out (some documents may be needed).

My pet needs to be spayed or neutered but I can't afford it, where can I get help?

If you are on a fixed income, Second Chance may be able to provide reduced rates on veterinary services.  This helps to ensure that pets get the medical care they need for treatable medical conditions. Fill out an application HERE.

When does the town run rabies clinics?

At this time, our rabies clinics are on pause. Weekly/biweekly rabies clinics (not sponsored by the town) can be found at Pet Supplies Plus and Tractor Supply. Please check their website or call them for more information including dates, times, and prices.
